EVect of kidney function and disease status on urinary tissue factor measurements
نویسندگان
چکیده
Aim—To investigate factors that influence urinary tissue factor (uTF) measurements: glomerular permeability and filtration, tubular function, haematuria, and urine bacterial growth. Methods—uTF, protein creatinine index, glomerular filtration rate, retinol binding protein, N-acetyl-â-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) and urinary haemoglobin (uHb) were measured in patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus and nephrotic syndrome (n = 342), tubulo-interstitial disease (n = 50), and haematuria of uncertain cause (n = 50); measurements were also made in urine samples from healthy subjects for “simulated” haematuria (n = 6) and bacterial growth (n = 4) studies. Results—There was a weak correlation of uTF with glomerular permeability and filtration (protein creatinine index and glomerular filtration rate) and with markers of tubular function (retinol binding protein and NAG). uTF concentrations were not aVected by the presence of blood or bacteria in the urine sample. Conclusion—uTF concentrations are relatively stable. This is an important finding if the assay is to be used in clinical practice. (J Clin Pathol 1998;51:234–237)

متن کاملEtiology and Outcome of Chronic Kidney Disease in Iranian Children
Background Considering the significant geographical and ethnical differences in pattern of incidence, etiology and outcome of chronic kidney disease (CKD), the present study aimed to assess the etiology and outcome of CKD in Iranian children. Materials and Methods In a cross-sectional study etiology and outcome of 372 children aged 3 months to 18 years with CKD was studied during the period 199...
متن کاملSurvey of polycystic kidney disease and other urinary tract abnormalities using ultrasonography in Persian and Persian related cats in Iran
Ultrasonography is an accurate and accessible method for detecting polycystic kidney disease (PKD), an inherited autosomal dominant disease, and other urinary tract diseases. The present work is a preliminary study of PKD and urinary tract abnormalities using ultrasonography in Persian and other long hair cats in Iran. This study was conducted on 83 cats including 68 Persian cats and 15 Persian...
متن کاملEffect of Hypertonic Saline 5% on Early Graft Function and Urinary Interleukin 18 and Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin in Deceased-Donor Kidney Transplantation
Ischemia reperfusion injury (IRI) is one of the main causes of delay graft function (DGF) in deceased-donor kidney transplantation (DDKT). Evidences suggest that hypertonic saline (HS) has beneficial effects on IRI. The objective of the present study is to determine the effect of intraoperative HS, on graft function and urinary biomarkers of interleukin 18 (IL-18) and neutrophil gelatinase-asso...
